Months Have Gone By without a word.....

There has been a lot of life happening some worth mentioning and others not.  So the things worth mentioning are as follows.....

Thad graduated this year from BYU and is now working in Philadelphia and living somewhere near there.  They bought a home and recently moved into it. Congratulations!!!
Melissa graduated from High School this last May.
Congratulations to her too!!!!

Melissa and her friends

Melissa and her friends that she graduated from school with.

I drove back east with Emma and picked up Bekki to bring home.   We went to the East Coast and back in 6 days.  I had never been there.  It was fun to see so many sights so very quickly.
The water is warmer than the West Coast.

We stopped in Pennsylvania and visited Thad and Andrea.  It was very green.
Addie and Brooklyn had fun playing with the dogs.  Bekki's dogs.

It was a long 3 day drive home.....ughhh

We went target shooting and learned how to aim and fire.   Some hit the target and others didn't.  But we did look GOOD!!!

We survived the summer heat because we had a nice swimming pool. The main swimmers were Lydia, Evelyn and myself.  It was very refreshing after a days work.
Ruth, Emma, Mason, and those who live at home were able to go camping before school began.  We went to 3 different campsites.  1 in Idaho and 1 in Oregon and 1 in Washington.  We stayed at the beach and had a blast!

While we were in Portland we were able to catch a ride on the train that Ryanna's Husband Tim drives.  Mason who loves trains was in heaven.  He even got to drive the train.

This was a great summer and now it is time to go back to school. Lydia and Evelyn are ready to go .  Their first day back was August 22.   Lydia is in 10th and Evelyn is in 7th.  Her first year in Junior High.

And just for information- We took Melissa to BYUI last Thursday and she started her first day of college today  September 10.
So far she is doing great.   Has made a lot of friends and we don't hear much from her.  No news is good news they say.

I do not do well with change.  They changed the format of the blog so now I will have to take a bit more time to figure out how to put pictures with the post.   So until then   ......

Last night I attended the awards dessert banquet for the Seniors of Notus High School.  One of which is our daughter Melissa.  This group of classmates has been very impressive throughout all of their years in school.  They were the class that everyone wanted to teach because they wanted to learn.   Melissa received a few awards for excellence and has grown so much in these last few weeks.  We have mixed emotions about her growing up and moving on but have come to realize that it is all part of the life process. As each of my children have grown and left the feelings are always the same, sadness, happiness and change.  This experience always gives me a taste of what my parents went through as we grew up and left the home and how are Heavenly Parents must have felt as we left to come and experience life on earth.  How we will pray for her as we do all of our children who have left the safety of home and have ventured out on their own.   We love you Melissa and are so glad about your decisions to go on for more education.    You have our love and support always.

The last couple of months.......

I decided that I had better update. We have been busy with life and enjoying every minute. We celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary. We made a slide show for all of our children. If you haven't received one please let me know.

We had visitors in February. Thad and Andrea came with Brooklyn and Adeline. We had a great time. Brooklyn is having fun outside.

While they were here we had a wood cutting party.

Here are two of the best helpers.

Oh and let's not forget Thad.

It is so nice to have help. Thank you muchly.

Nap time!!!! After a hard day.

It is fun to have family visiting. We really enjoy hanging out together and getting to know our grandchildren.

This is our dog Merk. At the beginning of the year she disappeared and was gone for 3 weeks. We had given up on her return when our neighbor called and said that Merk might be at the dog pound. We went and check and there she was. It was a happy reunion . We found out that she had been caught by her paw in a small animal trap for about 10 days. Someone found her and took her to the pound. While there she was doctored and fed and returned. She now stays close to home. Most of the time.

Adeline enjoys her food.

She learned how to put her hands in the air on command. What a cutie!!!

I love pinterest. You can learn some of the coolest hair styles.......

Melissa performed at a Solo Festival. She sang in a trio

and also as a soloist. Good job!

Her cousin, Emily Maughan also performed a solo. She has a great voice. Nice job, Emily!

Melissa has had a busy year. As a senior she was to complete a Senior Project. She chose to learn the Piano piece "Claire de Lune " by Claude Debussy. One of the requirements was to do a service for the community by sharing the completed project. She played an assortment of piano pieces plus Claire de Lune for a Nursing Home. They loved it! She plans on returning with some friends to play and sing for them.

This year we decided to buy new furnishings for our home. We now have the BIGGEST TV ever. It gave me nightmares for awhile. I felt it was taking over... But I now have that under control and the watching of it too.

We also bought a couch.......

and Love-seat. It is a nice change and we enjoy them.

Hannah is holding the newest addition. Ryli. She is a cuddle bug.

March is the birthday month for Morgan, Katie, Mason and Mom (grandma)

Time to blow out the candles. Mason was able to blow out both sets of candles on each dessert before I could even take a breath.

Morgan is a princess for the birthday party. What a cutie!

Time to open presents.

The birthday girls.

Time for the School Spring concert. Such happy singers?....

We got to take Morgan with us to the concert. She enjoyed the singing and band playing.

Elly came to visit in March. Thank you Elly for the visit. We loved it!

Elly takes very good care of our hairstyles. We get pretty shaggy when she is away for a long time.

Morgan got a trim too..

A 4 generation picture. Great Grandma Wells, Grandma Wells, Katie Wells Hansen and Baby Ryli Hansen.

We were able to get tickets from Andrea's Dad to attend the 1st session of General Conference at the conference center in Salt Lake.(Thank you Brother Evans) We traveled to Provo and stayed with Thad and Andrea. We had a great weekend and loved being able to be in the same room with the Prophet and Apostles.
Melissa was so happy to get to drive on this trip. She did a nice driving job. We made it safely.

The passengers while Melissa was driving. They seem quite relaxed.

While we were in Utah we got to hang out with the cutest girls.....

Now the day is over or is it just beginning? Until next time... Love to all
